With an expanding family, property prices on the increase and the prohibitive cost of moving, it made sense for our clients to create more usable space inside the house.

The garden area is substantial. The opportunity of turning the raised patio into an orangery allowed a significant increase in usable space with no appreciable diminishment in exterior space. The owners also took the opportunity to increase the width of the house and relocate the kitchen into the new area.

The old kitchen is became a day room and additionally, the owners decided to turn the cellar into the utility room. This had the added benefit of freeing up more space for daily living and moving noisy appliances out of earshot.
