This is a really interesting building project to combine two flats in an already-converted Victorian house, into one fabulous apartment.

The twist is that the flats aren’t next to each other or even fully vertical with each other. They are on different levels, straddle the communal area and intersect with only enough room for a custom-built staircase.

If you look at the picture you’ll see the tape outline of the area we have to work with. What’s left of the room will become an air-conditioned office as we build into the eaves.
